Dear Friends, It’s a new day and a new year and as the Bible says, “and behold the old is gone and the new has come…”  That means it’s back to the new year’s resolutions and the pursuit of happiness whichever comes first.

We at UNAA Times are celebrating our fourth year online and for that we are eternally grateful to you our readers and the advertisers who continue to believe and support this brand.

For the next two months I will be in Kampala to promote our new publication – The Ugandan Diaspora Magazine slated to launch during the first quarter of 2011. []

Another project in the offing together with our affiliates in the UK-Europe, is the very first diaspora social networking summit to be held in December 2011. The event will also help recognize those successful Ugandans abroad who have excelled in their various fields of work in the process making us proud as a nation.

As you might know 2011 will be ushering in some new changes. Our neighbours to the north will be heading to the polls on 9th January in a referendum that might see the secession of the Government Of Southern Sudan (GOSS) from the mainly Islamist Northern Republic of Sudan.

On February 18th 2011,  Uganda will also head to the polls for the general election that many believe will be the final duel between incumbent President Yoweri Museveni and his nemesis Retired Colonel Kiiza Besigye.

With the violence that marred elections in Kenya and Ivory Coast still fresh in people’s minds we hope that the vanquished will do the noble thing and accept the outcome in order to ensure a peaceful transition.

In order to bring our services closer to the people, Soreel-Mayas GraFX LLC [] will be setting up an office in Kampala to help bring American industry standards to the business fraternity in Uganda.

Also launching will be UG Media – a company that will be specializing in providing Media strategies and Media consultancy for many of our clientele in Uganda.

Finally, the management of UNAA TIMES Online would like to wish all our readers a happy new year and it is our prayer that God will continue to enlarge your territories this year.
