By Ronnie Mayanja | Dispatch from Kampala | Uganda’s Number One hip-hop artist Daniel Kigozi a.k.a Navio returned for an explosive show dubbed ‘The Nawuliranga Concert’ at the Lugogo UMA Show grounds on 29th January 2011. The show that was off to a late start, picked up momentum as artist after artist pumped energy into the crowd. Special guests included the One8 trio Amani. JK and Alikiba from Kenya and Zambia.

First came the hip hop DJ who played some great hip hop before Jackie formerly of Blu 3 took to the
stage. Next it was Lillian also Blu 3 then came Klear Kut, Maurice Kirya, Michael Ross. The Mcee too
kept the crowd happy with joke after joke.

Navio whose career has greatly progressed from the days of Klear Kut was no disappointment for over an hour he gave his audience his all. Performing their favorite hits and collaborations with other artists while dancing and rapping to the excitement of the crowd.

Last year was a big year in terms of Navio’s career. He was invited to perform in the US at the UNAA convention in Washington DC, then he got signed to a major record label Rockstar 4000/Sony Music. He also got selected to be part of the One8 super group that featured the king of R&B, R.Kelly. He finally cemented his place at the top of the hip hop industry by winning 2 PAM awards for Best hip hop artist and best video for Raw.

Using some of the latest lighting effects, giant LED screens and turbo sound revellers were in for a show like no other suffice it to say that Steve Jean in 2011 will be a force to reckon with as far as LIVE productions are concerned.

The show was produced by Fenon Entertainment and Navcorp and managed by Talent 256. The show was sponsored in part by Airtel, Pilsner Lager, Rockstar 4000, Hot 100, Radio Simba and Graphic systems. The show also boasted of one the biggest advertising campaigns of the new year.
