The Watoto Children’s Choir from Kampala, Uganda, will be singing and dancing at 7 p.m. March 8 at the Glencoe Union Church sanctuary, 263 Park Ave. in Glencoe.

Following a year of traveling and performing throughout the United States, this group of 20 children will soon be returning to their home in Kampala, Uganda to continue to pursue their studies and be a part of the change and growth that is happening in their country. The Watoto organization that supports these children is a holistic care program that serves orphaned children and women who are particularly vulnerable due to physical or financial crisis.

The children and women who are served through Watoto receive medical care, educational services and emotional and spiritual care and support, with the hope that their lives will be restored to wholeness and that they will move forward to become full participants in rebuilding their country from the ravages of war, HIV/AIDS, and economic despair.

This concert is free to the public. Following the performance there will be an opportunity to financially support this choir and the important work of Watoto. CDs and other items will be available for sale, all to support the educational and medical work of Watoto.
