BBC ~ A south London vicar was arrested on suspicion of conducting sham marriages, it has emerged.

The Reverend Nathan Ntege, 52, of St Jude with St Aidan Church in Thornton Heath, was arrested on 4 June, the UK Border Agency (UKBA) said.

He was arrested on suspicion of carrying out an act to facilitate the commission of a breach of UK immigration law, according to the UKBA.

He has been bailed until 6 December pending further inquiries.

‘Pastoral care’

Church premises were searched as part of the investigation and the Diocese of Southwark and Church of England were made aware of what was happening, the agency said.

“The Borders Agency is investigating matters concerning the conduct of marriages which have taken place at St Jude’s church,” said a UKBA spokesman.

“He has been released on bail, the terms of which mean that he is not currently able to undertake public ministry until the investigation is complete.

“The Diocese of Southwark will be ensuring that the Revd Nathan Ntege, his family and the parish receive pastoral care and support.”

There is no truth to the allegation whatsoever!
I know and the Pastor personally. If anyone has anything to say about this let him/her search their conscience because I can say in truth God will judge you as you judge others. Now for legal reasons I can’t say more but I KNOW HIM AND HE IS INNOCENT!
