Lucky young ladies from various parts of North America will have the chance to shine brightly on stage at the long awaited Miss.UNAA Scholarship pageant. Contestants will be showing off their wits in pageant segments such as talent, traditional wear, and evening wear. The pageant offers the opportunity for young ladies to display their culture and work as active participants in the Uganda-American community.

The mission of the pageant is to inspire young adults to work towards their personal and professional development while contributing to the development of the Ugandan diaspora in the United States and Abroad. Crowned winners and contestants are encouraged to work on development projects such as volunteering for community organizations, feeding hungry children, and supporting international initiatives for immigrants within the United States and abroad.

Miss UNAA 2010, Miss Yvette Maliza Kibwika has shown an example to her community by continuing to introduce the Miss UNAA spirit in young people from her country through her community work. Since the inception of the Miss UNAA pageant at the 2005 convention in Minnesota and the crowning of the first Queen, Agnes Ndamagye, its unique mission continues to provide the betterment and development of Ugandan youth in the Diaspora.
