Ronnie Mayanja — August 31st for me was spent at Theatre La Bonita as we witnessed the battle of the Champions between Uganda’s leading Comedian Salvador Idringi and Eric Omondi a leading stand up comedian from Kenya. Because I arrived when the battle was already underway I will not be the one to make the final verdict on who carried the day but will relay what I saw in what was a well attended Friday night comedy night.

Hosted by Abbey Mukiibi and Patrico Mujuuka the night also featured other leading comedians from Uganda like Dolibondo and Sergent Kerekere. Uganda’s comedy scene has seen exportential growth and more and more big name sponsors are jumping on board in support of a trade that will make you live longer because it has been said laughter is always good medicine for the soul!

The humor and the jokes of the day had some strong sexual content but Salvador and his guest comedian did their best to leave their audience in stitches as they fed them with joke after joke that ranged from academia to family stories. After engaging the audience for sometime and delivering on their promise to entertain, the hilarious night of LIVE stand up comedy later ended at about 11pm.

Therefore if you happen to be in Kampala the next time you feel run down or abit on tension try out the Mic Check Live Comedy Show at La Bonita and you will be sure to leave more relaxed and happier. Time is 8p every Wednesday Evening!

Our News Team attended the Battle of Champions and now brings you some of the highlights.
