As we celebrate Uganda’s Independence Day and 50 Year Golden Jubilee, this week we will be featuring Accomplishments by Ugandans from around the world.

We chanced upon these exquisite knits designed by a fellow Ugandan, Harriet Landess. The knits have such vibrant colors reminiscent of her East African Heritage.  The fact that she is doing this in the diaspora as a mother working hard to support her family, is worth noting and speaks loudly of her determination and creativity. We are proud to find Ugandans using their ingenuity to curve out a niche in the competitive fashion world.

She has invested so much time and talent to bring these visions to life. As an artist, it is evident that she is championing the Colors of her motherland with the flag colors reflected in a line of the knits dedicated to the celebration of Uganda’s 50th Golden Jubilee.

Africancrab Knits & Crochets is a small home business run by a mother to help generate income for her daughter’s college fund. All items are 100% hand made. All proceeds to go Desire’s College Fund.

Below are some photos of the Knits made by Harriet.  Let’s us join in supporting her by purchasing these Ugandan designed, unique and beautiful knits.
