The Ugandan Community in Boston with deep sorrow announces the Death of Harriet Kanyike who lost her battle with Colon Cancer at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston yesterday November 3rd 2012. Funeral arrangements are now under way to repatriate the remains of the deceased to his ancestral home in Uganda.

The deceased was a sister to Ken Damba Kanyike and Robert Kanyike of Boston. Relatives and friends looking to contact the family immediately can do so through Mr. Kenneth Henry D’Damba Kanyike at +1617-771-9162 or email. ken_henry41@yahoo.com.

There was a Lumbe today Nov.4th at St. Mary’s Church in Waltham following the Death announcement and below are the highlights. A Funeral Service will be held at a time and day to be determined this week to pray for the Late Harriet Kanyike and her family.

In Memory of Harriet Gorriet Kanyike 1967 – 2012

Harriet Gorriet Kanyike, 45, of Waltham, Massachusetts entered into eternal rest on November 4, 2012 surrounded by her loving family. Harriet was born in Fort Portal, Uganda on June 12, 1967 to The Honorable Anthony William Henry and Robinah Perusio Abooki Kanyike. She came to United States where worked as an LPN at the Marist Hill Nursing Home.

She is survived by her beloved children, Nathanial Tebigwayo and Dorothy Mulo. She is the cherished sister of Bennet Kanyike, Joyce Kanyike, Allan Kanyike, Douglas Kanyike and his wife Peace, Kenneth Ddamba and his wife Linda, Robert Kanyike and his wife Hope, Brian Kanyike , Anthony Kanyike, Susan Kanyike and Juliet Kanyike. She is also survived by a host of relatives and friends here and in Uganda.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 9, 2012 at St. Mary’s Church, School Street, Waltham, Mass from 4 to 8 pm and a funeral service will be held at 7pm. Burial will take place in Busabaga, Uganda. The body of the late has now been moved to Faggas Funeral Home in Watertown.
