Allen Namugga was born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, to Ugandan parents and calls both Kenya and Uganda home. Her love for travel and the Spanish language gave her the opportunity to take part in an exchange program in San Juan, Puerto Rico where she currently continues her education full time at Universidad del Sagrado Corazon, majoring in Nursing. She also works as an English student mentor on campus.

One of Allen’s main goals during her reign as Miss Uganda USA, which was inspired by her mother and late grandmother is to raise awareness about accessible and affordable health care in Africa, and living a healthy and productive life overall. She is also working on raising funds for “Cecelia’s Place”, a maternity clinic her late grandmother left behind. It is run down and in dire need of re-construction as well as modern equipment.

Her dream, together with her mother and sister is to bring the clinic back to life so that it can continue helping women and children in the region, as it always has over the years. This is what she sees herself concentrating on in the future, with a focus on women’s health as well as working with young people and promoting youth services to better serve their communities while assisting them stay healthy.

Allen describes herself as funny, adventurous, passionate, generous, ambitious, and independent. Other activities she enjoys include travelling, modeling, water sports, yoga, the great outdoors, music, humanitarian work and bonding time with family and friends.
