If you are in Dallas for the Ugandan North American Association 2013 Convention during the Labor Day weekend, August 30, 2013 – September 2, 2013, stop by the Kellermann Foundation booth and learn more about what the organization does locally and in Uganda for the Batwa in Bwindi and the surrounding area.

The Kellermann Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization formed in 2004 to support and expand Dr. and Mrs. Scott Kellermann’s work in providing hope and health to the Batwa pygmies and surrounding communities in southwest Uganda.

Traditionally forest nomads, the Batwa pygmies had to re-create their lives outside the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest upon eviction from the forest when it became a World Heritage Site in 1992 to protect the endangered mountain gorillas.

Based in north Dallas, the Kellermann Foundation provides resources for health, education, spiritual outreach, and various sustainable development programs for the benefit of the local communities in the Bwindi area.
