Diaspora Fashion | Joe Malaika in ‘Exces De La Mode’ Fashion Show At The Holiday Inn Express
Lately Ugandans in the Diaspora have been excelling in various field ranging from Film to Fashion. One such designer a second generation Ugandan whose fashion statements are slowly gaining attention in the mainstream Boston Media is Joe Malaika.
In what was one of the best locally organised shows on September 14th at the Holiday Inn Express in Somerville, Massachusetts – the long awaited Fashion Show dubbed ‘Exces De La Mode’ was underway with a variety of fashion designers.
Starting off with a red carpet, the well attended fashion show featured Joe’s Collection, his compatriots in fashion punctuated with some unique musical performances. Compared to his previous shows this time Joe Malaika out did himself featuring more variety, color, glamour and inspired young kids onto the catwalk.
The catwalk music, models and entertainment were all on point. It was therefore no wonder that when the show was finally over none of the revelers wanted to leave instead applauding and cheering Joe who was extremely shy but happy that many people came out to support.

Below are some of the highlights of the well attended fashion show that also featured other design brands. Ugandan Diaspora News attended the event and now brings you some of the highlights. Photos by Andy Media -Nixon Andama.
