This is by far the best collaboration to come out from any East African artist in 2013. In an unexpected collab, two legends in their own right take on multiple genres of music in one song, to create a chart topper that will be talked about for years. Navio and Keith’s one take approach is apparent on this song produced by Major7 and shot by Just Carlos. Africa and America collide in “On and On”!

The latest collaboration between Ugandan rap star Navio and R&B legend Keith Sweat brings to the forefront an amazing love song that marries hip hop and R&B in a tribute to the Old school but never leaving out the new… On and on is a real test of styles. It emerges as one of those love mid tempos that any listener would love to head bop to in the whip while patiently waiting for that evening traffic to melt down.

After sweating it out in Keith’s private home studio in the burbs of Atlanta’s plush neighbourhood, the Navcorp rap star holds nothing back. It’s an all nighter in the lab with Atlanta based hip-hop producer Major 7 and the result is so telling.

On and on is a record for the ages. Its a soothing stance away from the hard-core hip hop joints Navio has come to be affiliated with but it’s close to records like “Trouble” and “One and only”.

It’s a real testament of Navio’s ability to sway the female listener as one Atlanta fan reminisced on how he reminded her of a young Def jam rapper by the name of LL.Cool.J… Shooting the music video within a week of cutting the record was a tough gig but as most folk have come to find out, Navio has never backed down from a challenge…

The music video, directed by Miami’s own Carlos Nunez is a predicament of Navio’s ability to adapt to any genre set before him. In the video he acts out the role of a club lover and shares the stage with Keith Sweat in an incredibly masterful display of camera shrewdness.

On and on is cut and ready for the big screens, the release date is the 21st of September 2013 and as Navio returns with his latest single, there’s no doubt that this African rapper has built one more bridge between genre, age and Nations.

Watch out for this latest display of an Artist that views himself as a player on the international scene. Navio is definitely doing his part in putting Uganda on the map of the globe.
