Dear friends and well wishers

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT DURING MY CHANGE OF COMMMAND CEREMONY IN NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA:

Greetings from New Orleans, Louisiana.

I write this message filled with joy and optimism to thank you for the wonderful support given to me during my Change of Command ceremony on 16th November 2013. It was so touching to see many of you clad in Busuuti and Kanzu dress amongst the military when I took Command as the Commanding Officer for Headquarters & Headquarters Company, 377th Theater Sustainment Command in New Orleans, Louisiana. My wife Betty and my children Valentine, Suubi, Mutenza, Malaika and Mirembe, and I send you all our appreciation. We were very honored by your presence. Thank you for your overwhelming support.

We thank the Buganda Kingdom and especially Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga and his team, for the leadership shown by sending three representatives to this function led by Dr. Abu Senkayi of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Sam Kiggwe of Atlanta, Georgia, and Mr. Abdulaziz Wasswa Ddamulira of Chicago, Illinois. The Ugandan delegation from Los Angeles, California led by Pastor Robert Kayongo of the Revival Power Ministries and his wife Barbara Kayongo, together with Mr. James Nagenda we thank you. The Ugandan Community from Dallas, Texas led by the President of the UAA-DFW Mr. Patrick Ogwang it was nice to see you.

The Ugandan Community in Atlanta led by UNAA- Atlanta Vice Chairman Mr. Gerald Katongole we were blessed to have you around. The Ugandan Community from Wisconsin/Chicago led by Mr. Edwin Muwonge thank you for your support. The Ugandan community from Washington DC led by Ms. Susan Kalule Nakazibwe your support is well appreciated. Boston, Massachusetts Community represented by Pastor Samuel Mutyaba of New Life Ministry your presence made a difference.

Students from President Clinton Graduate School of Public Service in Little Rock, Arkansas led by Ms. Angela Bukenya we thank you for inviting your friends. And finally, to the leadership of the Uganda North American Association (UNAA) led by the organization President, Mr. Brian Kwesiga, and the UNAA Executive Secretary Mrs. Isha Musoke Ogwang thank you for your wonderful support and for representing UNAA.

The support you all gave me and my family with your presence was so touching that up day Soldiers are asking as to how I was able to have over forty people from the different parts United States to attend the ceremony. The joke going around is, “Captain Musisi’s tribe took over the Command for a day”! It is this support that makes us unique as Africans and immigrants in this country.

We all remember the words of Professor Simeon Okpechi originally from Nigeria currently with Southern University in New Orleans during the dinner, when he commended and encourage us to continue working together in order to achieve the American dream. His words were, “I am so happy to see so many Ugandans here supporting a fellow African, instead of the usual trend of PHD “Pull Him Down”, what a wonderful message!

For those of you who could not make it here for the event but sent congratulatory messages from across the globe, thank you. My family and I want to thank you from the bottom of our heart for this support. Words alone can’t express how we feel but we were very touched by your overwhelming support. This reinforced my pride in our African culture which promotes the spirit of community service and that “It takes a team to build a community”. All I can say is, I promise to continue serving my community and country.

Ladies and gentlemen, let me take this opportunity to encourage you especially those in the Diaspora Community to work together because there is so much to achieve in this country if we work as a team instead of fighting each other. The business of tearing each other down is over, we need to support one another if not for us, but for the sake of our children and also, the people back home in Uganda. To this I pledge my support to anyone who needs it where I can legally and ethically help you out.

For the photos covering the event, Mr. Gerald Katongole of Atlanta, Georgia is compiling the Album and once he completes it we will share it.

Finally, ladies and gentlemen I also want to thank Dr. Peter Nkedi-Kizza and Mr. Raymond Mugalu of Gainesville, Florida, Mr. James Nagenda of Los Angeles, California and Dr. Abu Senkayi of Dallas, Texas for sponsoring the dinner for the event. What a wonderful gesture.

Thank you and May God bless you.

Sincerely,

CPT Frank Musisi, DML

We as Ugandans are proud of you and you advised you fellow Ugandans to unite than tearing apart. It was a sign of love at heart and in all you do to make the world a better place for every one. I applause for the AIDS facility in Kalangala. I had gone for a Tour and visited the area. You will be remembered for the great work you do Mr. Frank. As you take on that post May the almighty be the guide to that great post. I dore you sir!
