The former Aston Villa and Crystal Palace FC midfield king pin Paul Mortimer conducted this year’s African Nations Cup UK (ANCUK) draw at Wembley stadium on the 10th of April 2015 at 2PM.  The best football governing body The FA and partners of the tournament, the key advocates of grassroots football development gave a green light to       the biggest community football tournament draw to be hosted at Wembley, the home of English Football.

Paul Mortimer, now with Kick It Out, was joined by other special guests, The FA Inclusion Officer Kevin Coleman,    Consul General of the Kingdom of Morocco in London Abderrahim Biyoud, Honorable Ali Aden Awale head of Somaliland Mission UK, Detective Chief Inspector John Roch from The Metropolitan Police, Ms. Cindi Chatha from Essex  County FA and Corporate Sponsors and partners representatives from Lebara Mobile, World remit, Ethiopian Airlines, Kick It Out, Terrence Higgins Trust and Essex County FA.

For the Men’s open age competition, 20 countries were drawn with 5 in each group.

Group A looks to be the group of death where 2014 defending champions Sierra Leone were joined by Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, Morocco and Senegal.

In Group B, three time champions Nigeria was grouped with Rwanda, Kenya, Burundi and Somaliland

Group C: Cameroon, DR Congo, Tanzania, Ivory Coast and Guinea Bissau

Group D: Uganda, Zanzibar, Zambia, South Africa and Ghana

For Under 16, 8 countries will be represented. Four countries were placed in two groups.

Group A: Nigeria, Uganda, Morocco and Congo Brazzaville

Group B: Zanzibar, Tanzania, Somalia and Senegal

The ANCUK Chairman Marshall Gore has promised that this year’s tournament will be more organized glamorous. He is appealing to the African Diaspora Communities and media houses to grace the event and support their national teams. Mr. Gore was also very thankful to the support the tournament has received from its corporate sponsors and partners.

In his speech, Mr. KK Mwa of Lebara Mobile promised to put a five year engagement ring to African Nations Cup UK to continue Lebara Mobile’s relationship within the community.

This year’s tournament will be opened officially by Mr. Wayne Deller CEO Essex County FA, His Excellency William Nkuruziza the Rwanda High Commissioner to UK and His Excellency Edward Mohamed Turay the Sierra Leone High Commissioner to UK and Ireland on the 30th of May 2015 with traditional dancers from Burundi, Uganda and Rwanda and 20 mouth-watering games for round one of the opening fixture.

Sierra Leone vs. Ethiopia, Nigeria vs. Rwanda, Cameroon vs DR Congo, Uganda vs. Zanzibar, Morocco vs. Senegal,   Kenya vs. Burundi, Tanzania vs. Ivory Coast, Zambia vs. Ghana, Zimababwe vs. Sierra Leone, Somaliland vs. Nigeria, Guinea Bissau vs. Cameroon and South Africa vs. Uganda.

This year’s tournament will take place on the following dates; on 30th, 31st May and 6TH, 7th June for the preliminaries and knockout stages at West ham Memorial grounds, E15 3DB with finals on 14th June 2015 at Terrence –     McMillan stadium, E13 8SD.
