You can attend the usual forums with thought –provoking topics and distinguished panelists from Uganda and Minnesota. You can rock out to Mega Dee, Maro, Desire Luzinda & Djs Paddy, Broadband, Shortlegg. You can participate in the first ever Source of the Nile 5K Run / Walk & Outdoor event. You can donate to the Cancer Cause for Jinja Hospital at the various Twegaite Minnesota activities during the convention and get a Source of the Nile 5K Run / Walk T-shirt.

Creating Connections & Building Bridges -Together, of course, is the theme at the convention, which runs May 21 to 25 at the Crown Plaza MSP- Mall of America Suites & Hotel in Bloomington. Twegaite Minnesota is committed to bringing together individuals and organizations from diverse sectors to generate action on issues affecting Busoga region in Uganda.

The event will be attended by the Prime Minister of Uganda representing the President of Uganda, Leader of Opposition Hon. Wafula Oguttu, Speaker of Uganda Parlaiment Hon. Rebbecca Kadaga, Kamuli District Chairperson Ms. Salaamu Musumba, Dr. Paul Clyde (President of Michigan Business School), Dr. Paul Emerson of the Task Force for global health and other key stakeholders in parliament, business, local government and the Kingdom of Busoga.

Twegaite Minnesota 2015 program will cover a diverse range of issues and also make space for new and on-going conversations. According to the Organizing Committe Chair person Anthony Isubikalu – there is a lot of excitement building up to this event and this year’s convention in Minnesota is expected to attract even bigger crowds, suggesting a renewed interest in Twegaite convention activities and Uganda.

Twegaite registrants and enthusiasts will find plenty to do – social networking opportunities with key stakeholders in various sectors of Uganda & Minnesota at forums and meetings. There will simply be no day without a fun event or festival going on somewhere at this action packed convention. Meanwhile, this year will include a host of new attractions. Miss Uganda (Leah Kalanguka), Miss UNAA (Yvette Kubwika), Maro, Mega Dee, Minnesota’s own maestro Linkage Briize & Desire Luzinda who will feature at the Saturday Boat Cruise, after the convention’s inaugural 5K Run, Walk & Outdoor Festival, on the Saint Croix Mississippi river tributary.

A ticket to the concert comes with 3 levels of entertainment and 3 course dinner. Parents who want to make sure their small children are part of the convention can attend the outdoor event to enjoy a variety of traditional Ugandan games.
