EACC Summit | The East African Chamber of Commerce Trade and Investment Conference 2015 Highlights!!




The East Africa Chamber of Commerce trade and investment 2015 annual conference held in Dallas, Texas was a major success.  The event kicked off with a women only networking cocktail dinner hosted by EACC trustee Beth Plumlee and attended by notable women leaders that included Mrs. Clark of Gensler, Dr. Maggie Kigozi from Uganda was also a keynote speaker.


On Day 2 of the conference featured tours that included the South Dallas farm and the Alliance airport where our dignitaries were treated to a helicopters tour of the facility.   Later in the afternoon leading industry experts engaged attendees in presentations of how to grow their business and investment portfolios.  Some of the major speakers included Mr. Peter Kiguta, Director of Customs for East Africa Community.  Mr. Kiguta announced that EAC was going to sign an agreement with EACC as a business partner thus allowing EACC to be included in the commercial dialogue.  The evening reception was sponsored by iMicrobusiness, a nutrition company.  The company is in a process of expanding to East Africa.


Day 3 — This was the grand finale day that featured the main event of the conference.  Several EACC panels discussed a variety of business opportunities in East Africa.  Topics that included Healthcare, real estate, transportation and logistics, capital acquisition and energy were among the areas covered. The keynote speech for this year was delivered by Dr. Maggie Kigozi who spoke about the opportunities of doing business in East Africa.  Following the presentations, speeches and networking opportunities the EACC 2015 Conference came to an end with an evening of dance that also featured the Dallas crane dancers and fashion models.
