News flash — The Uganda Canadian Diaspora Business Expo and Convention on Canada Day weekend is shaping up to be the greatest summer event of 2018 for the Canadian and diaspora community at-large.

As the second major Uganda Convention on Canadian soil following the first convention held in Vancouver, this year’s star-studded lineup will provide entertainment for all revelers.

Among the top headliners are H.E the “ghetto president” Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu a.k.a. Bobi Wine, Uganda’s songstress Iryn Namubiru and Afrigo Band’s Eddie Yawe, who will close out the event with his ever popular soundtrack Ka-tukigale.

Other confirmed artists will include Nubian Li, Toronto-based Ugandan rap legend Keko, Wonder Boy, Ahumuza Parvin, gospel artist Julie Muteesaira, Maddar Ranks and other seasoned entertainers from North America.

For fashion we are glad to report that Ms. Stella Atal, Uganda’s export to France, will be flying in from Paris to cement her presence on the catwalk with her kikoyi African-themed outfits.

For those in love with water, Lake Ontario will set the stage for this year’s sunset Empress of Canada boat cruise courtesy of New Level Entertainment. If you plan to attend this cruise the early bird special will expire at the end of May.

Other planned activities include a picnic lunch at Center Island, an inter-denominational church service to pray for Uganda, a community town hall to discuss the state of political affairs in Uganda, this will be broadcast live both on NBS and Diaspora Television across various social media platforms, a diaspora business breakfast and the grand finale dinner featuring seasoned DJs Benazo from Maine and DJD from Maryland will close out the Canada Day weekend on Sunday, July 1, with various ballads.
