Events | The Uganda American Association of Greater New York (UAAGNY) hosts First Midnight Cruise.
The Uganda American Association of Greater New York (UAAGNY) hosted its first Midnight Boat Cruise on July 28th, 2018 at the Army Terminal in Brooklyn, New York. The Cruise was sponsored by Mr. Saeed Hassan CEO – ABS Travel, Kenya Airways and attended by the East African fraternity that came out in large numbers given the departure time. For a first the organizers were quite thrilled and promised to make this an annual affair on the New York Uganda summer calendar.
Organized by the New York community leaders Musisi Kakumba and Grace Serwadda, the duo should be commended for pulling off what was a big gamble given how late the cruise set sail. The DJs Kaddu and Young delivered playing an assortment of Nigerian, Raggae and East African hits while attendees were treated to a sumptuous dinner that included local Samusas.
Other notable VIPs included Uganda’s deputy chief of mission at the United Nations – Ambassador Philip Odida, Mr. Edward Wanda – the Chair and one of the organizers of the 2006 UNAA Convention in New York and many corporate influential Ugandans based in New York.
On their part Kenya airways unveiled their 15% discount fares for all those traveling between now and December on the long-haul direct flights aboard the 787 Dreamliner from JFK – Nairobi — interested community members should simply visit the Kenyan Airways official website to learn more.
