The 9th Uganda Diaspora Social Networking Gala and Business Breakfast will be held at Kampala Serena Hotel – Katonga Hall on Friday December 27th starting from 9am. The breakfast will be moderated by Veteran NBS anchor Mr. Solomon Serwanjja and our assisted by our patron Dr. Maggie Kigozi. It will also be broadcast LIVE on NBS Television and across social media platforms on Diaspora Television.

Friday morning will feature our partners Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) laying down the foundation for Investing in Uganda, other topics will include Real Estate Opportunities, International Schools, Diaspora Banking, Mobile Money Transfers, National IDs and Dual Citizenship, Diaspora Tax policy, Diaspora Tourism and more diaspora success stories.

Among the highlights  this year will be Robert Katende’s book launch – A Knight Without a Castle: A Story of Resilience and Hope. How Robert’s story inspired the Disney Movie, Queen of Katwe and his work has now attracted the attention of the Obama Foundation, Bill and Gates Foundation and more global charities.

This year’s Social Networking Gala will be held on Saturday December 28th starting at 6:30pm and will feature a Keynote from an accomplished Ugandan – Lt. Col. Dr. Ivan Edwards born at Mengo Hospital and the highest ranking Ugandan in the US Armed Forces.

Other notable attendees and speakers will include Dr. Lawrence Muganga am Award-winning writer, author, researcher, educator based in Edmonton, Alberta Canada. Dr. Muganga’s new book You Can’t Make “Fish Climb Trees”, clinched a USD$1.3 million book deal with an international organization. Whose contract prevents the organization from being named.

For entertainment this year expect some mixed grill of both the past and present but our main headliners will be legendary Afrigo band, a Comedy Special and Fashion by the Paris based Ms. Stella Atal and some networking opportunities should be on the menu.

As part of the highlights this year we shall also feature an early bird Uganda Canada Convention registration booth at the business breakfast to help answer questions on how to apply for our 4rd Annual Uganda Canada Day Weekend Convention (
