Elevate 256 are thrilled to announce that tickets are now available for the Spring 2020 Uganda meet-up on Wednesday 18th March, at Wework Moor Place, London EC2Y 9DT from 5.30pm-9.00pm.

The special guest on the evening will be Love Ssega, the epitome of a polymath. From being a founding member of Clean Bandit whilst still at Cambridge, Love Ssega can be recognised in the “Mozart’s House” video, which he wrote, co-produced and went onto perform on Jools Holland and Glastonbury in front of 45,000 people.  Choosing to fulfil his academic ambitions instead, Love Ssega stepped down from the band to pursue a PhD in Chemical Engineering. He later re-entered the music scene and has since charted a successful solo career with a live band releasing his EP Emancipation in 2018.

There will also be free workshops led by Ugandans excelling in their fields covering various topics from personal finance and debt management to fashion production and health and wellbeing.

Elevate 256’s mission is to motivate, inspire and inform the next generation of Ugandans living in the diaspora on how they can make their lives better by showcasing the Uganda’s finest talent in the UK. We do this by showcasing high profile and accomplished Ugandans at speaking and networking events which also provide a platform for meaningful and transformative dialogue.

At the last Ugandan Independence Day meet-up October, over 300 people gathered to celebrate the accomplishments of award-winning author, Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi and entrepreneur and businessman Rashid Kasirye founder of award-winning platform, LinkupTV.

“I am excited and honored to be guest speaker for the Elevate 256 Uganda meet-up. I am grateful that Katasi has asked me to be part of a great roll call of speakers”, said Love Ssega.
