Ugandan born junior welterweight Sharif “The Lion” Bogere, defeated his Mexican opponent Fernando Garcia knocking him out in the fifth round in a 10 round bout at the Memorial Hall in Plymouth, Massachusetts on Thursday night.

The Ugandan prize fighter dropped Garcia in the second round as he dominated his Garcia with speed, power, total velocity and finally taking him out with a solid right hook in the fifth round to end the fight in 2 minutes and 30 seconds. It was the 26 year old’s 26th career win and 18th knockout.

Bogere is now 3 out of 3 in the year and his promoters Golden Boy Promotions will see this fight as a significant point for them to push him for a world title shot early in the New Year.
