chalote RIP

Dear Diaspora community members this is our late daughter Charlotte Elizabeth Musisi who passed away last week. She suffered a cardiac arrest after a blood clot incident. She was taken to hospital after complaining of severe pain the chest cavity . At the hospital they administered a strong anticoagulant drug called Menatol to desolve the clot. But the doctors failed to take into consideration a pain killer drug which she had taken before for the pain and the combination of both drugs sent her into cardiac arrest within minutes.

The drug combination disturbed the area in the brain that produces electricity to the heart and sent into cardiac arrest and her heart stopped for 2 hours causing irreversible damage to the brain. The last few months have been a trying period for our family. Financially we’re hurmuraging and now we’re faced with the cost of sending our daughter’s remains back home to Uganda to be laid next to her ancestors. The body is now at Angelino Funeral Home in Van Nuys, California.

The funeral home handling everything including the casket, embalming, shipping the remains to Uganda, etc. has offered us a package fee of $8, 400 US Dollars. We have only one week from today to raise this money. The body is scheduled to fly out on the 22nd exactly one week from today. Any assistance accorded our family during this time of bereavement will be highly appreciated.

Help can be channeled directly to the the Funeral Home and using the facilities indicated below.

We are praying for you for grace and strength in this very difficult moment.

I’m so sorry for your loss. I want to make few comments here. I want to apologize for making this comments but at the same time I feel obligated to say something. If what I read is true, then the deceased family needs to do something. Mannitol is an osmotic diuretic which is given for increased intracranial pressure which is caused by cerebral edema mostly after a stroke never given to dissolve a clot! I’m not sure what pain medication was given and usually pain medication is not contraindicated. If this patient had a stroke with brain edema, she needed to be sedated to prevent agitation. All in all the story does not add up.
Once again sorry for your loss.
    May Charlotte RIP
