Memorial Service | For The Late John Fredrick Semayobe Held At St. Peter’s Anglican Church of Uganda, Belmont

The household of the Late Israel Kirabira of Butambala, Mpigi with deep sorrow announces the death of Mr. John Fredrick Semayobe  of Kawempe that occurred 18th August 2015 at 4am in Boston, Massachusetts.


Funeral arrangements are now underway and preparations for the return of his body home will be finalized on Sunday. Yesterday  21st August a Wake/Viewing was held at Brosco Funeral Home in Waltham —  from 4pm to 8pm.  And today Saturday a memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Anglican Church of Uganda, Belmont on Saturday from 5pm to 8pm. A family vigil has been arranged and friends continue to gather at Mr. Daudi Makumbi’s residence — 107 Ridge Lane Apt 3, Waltham, Massachusetts 02452. The late Mr. John Fredrick Semayobe was a pioneer in the Tourism in Uganda and Managing Director – Uganda Hippos Tours that  helped shape the Travel industry as we know it today!! He succumbed to Pancreatic Cancer.


The Late Mr. John Fredrick Semayobe’s body will depart the US on Sunday evening aboard an Emirates flight to Entebbe.  The family wishes to thank  the Uganda Embassy in Washington for their show of support  and for expediting the repatriation paperwork. A special thank you to Mr. Paul Brasco and the Brasco Funeral home for accommodating our needs. To the Boston community we appreciate you for being our support system during this difficult time.


Update — The Memorial service for the Late John Fredrick Semayobe was held at the Anglican Church of Uganda, Belmont on Saturday 22nd August 2015 starting from 5pm. The service was officiated by Rev. Kasirye and attended by large cross section of the Uganda Bostonian community.
